186 of you shared your experience with us in August

The feedback was made up of:

  • 158 complaints

  • 28 compliments

The most common service was General Practice which was mentioned 67 times, followed by Pharmacy 12 times and then tied 3rd place with 11 mentions were hospital patients.

Services people talked about most

  • You mentioned General Practice 67 times, with "accessibility and reasonable adjustments" mentioned 12 times and "remote appointments and digital services" mentioned 15 times.

A lot of our feedback this month came from groups sessions ran by our colleagues at Action Hampshire.

" Common issues included confusing telephone systems, inaccessible online booking systems. Automated phone systems were frequently described as confusing and difficult to navigate. When I phone the surgery there is now a robot I have to speak to quickly to understand the questions and it won't let me answer the first question and goes to the next."
Positive feedback included: " I have been incredibly lucky in all my encounters with my GP surgery over the past decade of being registered with them. Care is always exemplary, I feel listened to and like I am a partner in the care I receive rather than being a passive recipient."

  • You mentioned Pharmacy 12 times, with the main themes being "accessibility and reasonable adjustments" and "medication, prescriptions, dispensing".

"Local pharmacies seem to be getting medications wrong, people have been giving someone else's medications, they don't like that they are not being given their medication due to not being able to read the list on their screen and not delivering to disabled people in a timely manner, many are waiting extremely long periods from prescription by GP to actually receiving regular medication for the same pharmacies."
"The wait is too long, I can't ever get my medication on time, the pharmacy don't know how to read a screen, no point trying to see the doctor, not like it used to be, can't even make an appointment at the doctor's anymore."

  • You mentioned hospital patients 11 times

Hygiene: 2 members said how they noticed hospital staff not wearing gloves or using hand sanitiser. They both said it made them feel anxious and were concerned about hygiene. Another group member agreed about wearing gloves and said 'sometimes they do and sometimes they don't.

Public transport routes to hospital sites were described as: Complicated, requiring multiple changes, requiring multiple changes, difficult to navigate independently with sight loss
Participants highlighted that (throughout 2025–2026).Travel itself becomes a significant barrier to accessing care. Even when the clinical service is good, getting there can reduce confidence and increase reliance on others. This was particularly important for follow-up appointments and specialist referrals.

What happens next

We will use this feedback to help improve services by:

  • sharing what we have heard with relevant providers and system partners

  • highlighting examples of good practice

  • continuing to explore issues affecting access to General Practice, including through our ongoing GP survey work with neighbouring local Healthwatch teams

  • publishing clear public summaries so local people can see how their feedback is being used
