Dave has recently joined Healthwatch Hampshire after seven years as a Regional Development Manager for a major sight loss organisation. In that role he oversaw the development of community partnerships, volunteering networks as well as fundraising and engagement. Prior to that appointment, Dave was an Engagement Officer for Help the Aged / Age UK in the Midlands where he worked with a range of partners on a variety of projects to help reduce isolation amongst older people as well as campaigning on age related issues, supporting older people’s forums, fundraising and volunteer development. Dave also worked for a Community Foundation as both an Outreach and Support Officer and then as a Grants Officer. Significantly, Dave was also a qualitative researcher with one of the UK’s largest independent research agencies and has a wealth of experience in engaging and consulting ‘hard to reach groups’. Following an award winning university career, Dave quickly became Coordinating Secretary for the Television Trust for Scotland and a documentary film maker for Channel 6 Television in Dundee, Scotland.
“I’m really excited to be joining the Healthwatch Hampshire team and looking forward to utilising my array of skills and experiences to help build an overall picture of people’s views and experiences of health and social care across the county.”
